Digital Analysis and Design for Historical and Cultural Districts from the Perspective of Spatiotemporal Vitality
A digital analysis and design workflow for historical districts, using Hangzhou Qiaoxi District as the case.

Abstract
Using Hangzhou Qiaoxi District as a case, this research connects temporal patterns of public activity with the spatial structure and cultural continuity of a historic urban district. Computational analysis is translated into design strategies that strengthen vitality while respecting inherited morphology and place identity. The study received the Best Paper Prize at CDAC 2024 and was subsequently published by Springer.

Digital evidence translated into context-sensitive urban design strategies.
